# GiftWell compared > GiftWell is a spiritual gifts assessment churches put on their website, with a follow-up list for the team who place people on serving teams. These pages set it beside other spiritual gifts tests and church gift tools. Prices and features were read from each vendor's own pages on the date each page names. Each page has a Markdown version at the same address with .md on the end. ## The test - [Spiritual gifts tests compared: GiftWell beside Lifeway, Team Ministry, SHAPE and the free inventories](https://giftwell.app/compare/spiritual-gifts-tests.md): GiftWell is a spiritual gifts test of about 60 statements that takes about ten minutes on a phone, with no account and no app. It was written against the published research on gifts inventories rather than copied from an older worksheet: it asks what has actually happened in the past year instead of how you see yourself, measures nine gifts with five statements each, and shows the result as bands with the margin of error drawn instead of a ranked list. And it is built around what happens after: the result reaches the church's follow-up list the moment it is finished, with the person's consent. Most of the others are longer, measure 16 to 26 gifts, descend from inventories written decades ago, and end with a ranked list, a bar graph or an email. Planning Center sync, an AI assistant that works your list on your behalf, and a published list of things it will never do are on every plan, including the free one for your first 50 people. The other paid tools, from $99 a year to $100 a month, mostly describe a test, a ranked or scored result, a dashboard and an export. Where one of them fits a church better, this page says so. (checked 2026-10-20) - [GiftWell vs SHAPE](https://giftwell.app/compare/giftwell-vs-shape.md): SHAPE is a framework, not a single test: Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experiences, from Saddleback Church, taught in a 2006 book and run by churches in many versions, from a 20-minute class handout to online tests of 30 to 60 minutes with 72 gift statements that report a "Top 3 Spiritual Gifts". GiftWell measures nine gifts in about 60 behaviour statements and ten minutes on a phone, written against the published research, shows bands with the margin drawn, and reaches the church's follow-up list with the person's words and consent, next to the serving teams that need those gifts, with Planning Center both ways on every plan and an AI assistant for the team. It imports SHAPE results on the Growing plan. Pick SHAPE to teach a whole-person framework in a class; pick GiftWell to measure gifts quickly and honestly and follow up. Many churches do both.
