## Getting in

There is no password. On any result page, or at the My Path link on your church's page, enter the email you gave and a six-digit code arrives; enter it and you're in for this browser. Only results that were taken with that email appear, from any church that uses EmmauOS. Results your church imported from an earlier EmmauOS export count too, so someone whose result was brought over can sign in and see it; scores brought in from another assessment don't.

Someone asked to walk with another person gets a My Path too, even before they take the assessment. Saying yes on the invitation signs them in right away, with an **Open My Path** button on the thank-you page, and after that they can sign in with a code like anyone else. Until they take it, their page shows their walk and a **Take the assessment** step instead of gifts. If the walk ends and they never took it, their address stops getting codes.

## What is there

**Next steps** comes first, before anything else on the page, so the one thing to do this week is the first thing you see. Below it are your gifts and everything else:

- **Every result** you have taken, newest first, with its bands and the church it was taken at.
- **Gifts over time**: the nine gifts drawn across your results, so you can see Teaching rising or Mercy steady.
- Each result's **private link**, to send to a spouse or a mentor, and the **confirmation link** for 2 people who know you.
- **Download** any result, or **print** it.

## Reminders

Check **remind me**, and 6 months from now one email asks whether you would like to take it again. One email, never more, and off with one click.

## Erasing

**Delete** on any result erases it: scores, words, confirmations, from your church's view and from EmmauOS's backups within 30 days. Your church's charts keep an anonymous count. **Delete everything** removes every result and the email itself.

## Moving to a new church

If you move to another church that uses EmmauOS, you can take your results with you. In **Your data**, under **Take my results to a new church**, paste the new church's EmmauOS link (the one for their assessment) and press **Find church**. The next step names the church, so nothing goes to the wrong place by a typo. Then choose:

- **Share them with the new church's pastoral team.** You're asked again; your answer at the old church doesn't carry over.
- **Bring what I wrote and picked.** Off unless you tick it. The new church's pastors can read it. Your story goes only when you also share.

Your results, dates, bands and answers are copied, then you can sign in to My Path at the new church and see them there. Your old church keeps its own copy and nothing there changes; erase it there if you want it gone. What never goes: staff notes, anyone's confirmations, the AI first look, the *something I have walked through* answer, your Planning Center details and your private links. A result on an assessment the new church doesn't use stays behind, and the page tells you how many. Results on other assessments (APEST, SHAPE) and your walks, rule and circles stay too.

Like other copies, the new church sees it as an import, with "brought from" your old church on your timeline. It's never counted against their plan, and it's never written to their Planning Center until you share there. It needs a fresh code if you signed in more than ten minutes ago.

## Seeing someone's My Path

From a person's page, **See their My Path** opens their page as they see it, so you can talk it through with them. Owners, admins and pastors can open it for anyone with a result. A leader can open it for people placed or serving in the ministries they look after; a leader with no ministries set can open it for anyone, as on the rest of EmmauOS. Viewers never see the button.

It is read-only, and it leaves out what is theirs alone: their Rule, Beside you, the words people they walk with gave them, private milestones, anything they marked finished without sharing, and their reflection on a new step. Those places say "Only {name} sees this." Each look is written to the audit log.

## If your church turned it off

A church can choose not to offer My Path. Your result page's private link still works, and you can still erase from the bottom of it. Nothing is offered for the demo church, whose results belong to nobody.

## "I finished this" and your next step

Under each resource your church suggests, "I finished this" keeps a note, for you alone, that you have read or done it. Nobody at your church sees it unless you press "Let my pastors see it", and you can stop sharing or undo it anytime. When your church uses walking with, the first of your next steps is the one your church's pathway puts next for you: take the assessment, read something from the list, meet with someone, serve, or walk with someone yourself.

## Where you're starting

If your church's pathway has a track you haven't started, **Where you're starting** lists its steps. Tick the ones you've already done and send it, so your church's team can suggest where you start. Ticking a step doesn't mark it done, and your team decides your stage. Change or clear your answers any time. See [Where someone starts](/docs/starting-point).

## One next step per track

Your church's pathway has a few tracks, such as belonging, becoming and leading, in your church's own words. Your next steps show at most one step from each, so you can be new to a group and already leading somewhere at once. A track you have finished shows nothing. You never see a count, a column or how you compare with anyone, and nothing tells you if your pastors are thinking of you for a role. They will tell you themselves.

When your church has linked a class, a course or an event to one of your next steps, it's listed under that step, with a link to the church's own page for it. See [Ways to grow](/docs/resources#ways-to-grow).

## Raising up someone

If you lead something and a pastor has opened your apprenticeship to you, **Raising up Jo** shows the role, since when, and the four handover steps with where you are now. **Next step** and **Back a step** move it, and Jo sees the same. If you're the one learning, you see **You’re learning from Jim** and the same steps. At the last step it says **Ready to launch**. Your pastors see the step too; nothing is sent to anyone.

**Email me once a month about Jo** sends you one short email a month with where you are and one thing to try at that step; one tap stops it. When someone you raised up starts a new one, it shows under **Groups that came from yours**.

## Both sides of a walk

Many people are walked with by one person and walk with someone else themselves. **Next steps** keeps the two apart.

- **For you.** Your own next steps come first. If someone walks with you, their face and first name sit beneath them ("Sam walks with you"), and **From the people you walk with** lists what they have shared: a link, something to read, a question to answer.
- **Walking with someone.** If you walk with someone yourself, each of them has a line with their face and first name, and one plain word on how things stand: **Next time** and the day you meet, **Not this week** if you chose to skip, or **No date set** if no meeting day was given when the walk began. When a weekly question is going out, you see it, and **Choose another** lets you pick a different one before it is sent. A walk that is paused or has its questions turned off still shows its next day, and says that no question goes out just now. Under the people, your own next step on the leading track is repeated, and a link opens your church's shelf.
- **Your gifts.** Taking it again, the reminder, and inviting someone to take it come last.

### Before you meet

The day before you meet, the line for that person becomes **Tomorrow with Sam**: the question that will go out, what to listen for, and when you were last together. **Add to calendar** puts your meetings in your own calendar as one repeating private event, "Meet with Sam", until the season ends. It carries their first name and nothing else. If you change your meeting day, add it again.

### Your season with Sam

Under **Your walks**, each walk shows its season as a row of squares, one for each meeting: filled when you were together (a question went, or either of you logged time), plain when you weren't. A quiet week is just a week. **Your season with Sam** opens the walk's own page, which both of you can see: the row, and every question you have gone through.

In the last 2 weeks of a season, and after a season ends at its date, the page also becomes **Your season together**: how many times you were together and how many questions you went through, a **Print** button, and, while the walk is still on, **A line for Sam**. A line goes to their My Path as a word, and is theirs to keep. A walk that someone stopped, or that ended any other way, has no page.

## The shelf for walking with someone

While you're walking with someone, My Path lists what your church has put on its shelf for disciplers: books and guides for the one doing the walking. It goes when the walk ends. Nothing from the shelf is ever suggested to the person you walk with.

## Your rule

When your church uses Walking with, your page has a **Rule**: a few practices you keep, in your church's own words. EmmauOS suggests up to three to start with, from where you're on your church's pathway and your top gift, and you can change any of them. Check a practice to add it, then tap how often (daily, weekly, monthly or as led) and when in the day (morning, midday, evening or anytime).

Tap **I kept this today** when you have. Your page lists the days you kept each practice in the last week. A day you didn't isn't shown anywhere: there is no streak, no count and nothing in red. Only you see your rule and the days you kept; your pastors don't.

Turn on reminders and EmmauOS emails you on the days a practice is due, at an hour you choose, naming it in your church's words. Every reminder has **Stop these reminders**, which works with one tap.

## When you take a step

When your church moves you forward on its pathway (from Connect to Serve, say), My Path asks you once: "Would you like to tell what this meant?" Write a line or two, or tap **Not now**. What you write is yours. If someone is walking with you, you can check a box to let them read it; your pastors never see it. It is in your download.

## Commitments

A commitment is one sentence: "I will … with … until …". It always names someone, because a promise kept with someone is the kind that holds, and a landmark, a date or a moment like "Easter". If you're walking with someone, they are offered first; otherwise type a first name. You can have three at a time. Each ends one of two ways, **I kept it** or **Let it go**, and letting go is allowed. Only you see them. They are in your download, and erasing removes them.

## Beside you

The **Beside you** card holds your circles, your story and your words.

- **Your circles.** The classes, bands and cohorts you said yes to, with who else is in each. **Leave** takes you out at once and tells nobody.
- **Words.** Notes written to you by someone you walk with or share a circle with. They are yours to keep and are in your download. You can write one back; **Help me say it** can clean up your notes into a draft if your church has an AI key.
- **Your story.** Write it in your own words and choose who may read it: only you, your pastors, or your pastors to share in church exactly as you see it in the preview. You can leave your name off, and change your mind whenever you like.

If you erase everything, your circles, your story and the words written to you go too. If your church has turned on its safeguarding hold and you were released from walking with, words you wrote may be kept for up to 12 months for one named person first. The erase page tells you if so.

### Your walks

**Your walks** shows each walk you're on as a line of points: the day it began, each meeting a question went before, and each time you logged being together. Not every step is a question; coffee or an afternoon as friends counts too. Open **Log time with…**, pick **We met**, **We hung out** or **Something else together** and the day, and it goes on the line for both of you. Your pastors can see that you spent time together and when, never what was said. Either of you can remove a point.

### Moments

Under **Moments** you can note something you saw God doing in the person you walk with, or who walks with you: up to
500 characters and a day in the last year. They will see it in their own My Path, marked "noticed in you". Nobody
else can read it, and either of you can delete it anytime. It is in your download.

### Your line

When someone you walked with comes to walk with someone themselves, **Your line** says so: "Sam now walks with someone", or "Sam has walked with someone" once that season is over. It shows only if Sam said yes, it never says who, and there is no count.

If you were walked with and now walk with someone, **Your line** asks whether the people who walked with you may see that. It stays off until you choose **Let them see**, **Stop sharing** turns it off again, and your choice is in your download. A walk that was stopped or released never shows.
