The test itself

Pastor Center's test is long by design: 24 gifts with about three items each, plus a full DISC section, and a church can switch off gifts it does not teach (the sign gifts, for instance) and rewrite definitions. A church that wants personality and gifts in one report, in its own words, gets that here.

GiftWell measures nine gifts with five statements each, about 60 in all, in about ten minutes on a phone with no account. The statements describe what has happened in the past year rather than self-image. Five statements per gift gives each a score out of 25, which is enough to tell gifts apart; three items per gift, as Pastor Center's 74 items across 24 gifts works out to, gives less.

How results are shown

Pastor Center reports a "top five gifts". GiftWell shows bands: every gift within three points of the highest is in the lead band, the next gift within two points is "at the edge", and inside a band gifts sit in Romans 12 order so no ranking can be recovered. A gift score from a few items is honest to about two points either way, so GiftWell does not print a fifth place. The research is on why we ask what we ask.

What the team gets after

Pastor Center gives a dashboard on every tier, AI matching on Advanced, and Planning Center on Premium.

GiftWell's follow-up list, serving teams, placements with a 90-day check, weekly digest, Planning Center sync and export are on every plan including the free one. AI never scores anyone; a church may add its own key for a staff-only brief.

Price

Pastor Center starts at $49.99 a month, which is about $600 a year, and reaches $99.99 a month for Planning Center. Pastor Center's page shows monthly prices only; if an annual rate exists it was not on the page we read.
