The test itself
Spiritual Gifts Plus measures 26 gifts and adds a DISC personality section, which brings the sitting to 112 questions and gives a church a personality profile alongside the gifts. If your church teaches a long gift list and wants personality in the same report, that is the design you want.
GiftWell asks about 60 statements about what has happened in the past year, across nine gifts, in about ten minutes on a phone with no account. It has no personality section. The length is a choice: five good statements per gift measure a gift as well as a dozen, and people finish ten-minute tests.
How results are shown
Spiritual Gifts Plus reports a person's "top spiritual gifts". GiftWell shows bands: every gift within three points of the highest is in the lead band, the next gift within two points is "at the edge", and inside a band the gifts sit in Romans 12 order so no ranking can be recovered. A score from a handful of statements is honest to about two points either way, so GiftWell does not print an order. The research is on why we ask what we ask.
