Bands, not a ranking

Each of the nine gifts is scored out of 25, and each score carries a margin of about two points either way. GiftWell never sorts them into first to ninth.

  • The lead band holds every gift within three points of the highest score. That is usually two gifts, sometimes three or four. The result says they are clearly at work.
  • At the edge names the next gift if it sits within two points of the lowest lead gift: too close to call, so it is said rather than hidden.
  • Everything else is shown in Romans 12 order, with the margin drawn on every bar.

Gifts appear in Romans 12 order, and alphabetically inside a band, so no ranking can be read back out of the page. The pair matters more than any single gift: Mercy with Hospitality serves very differently from Mercy with Leading, and the result's wording speaks to the combination.

What a pastor sees that a member does not

Both see the bands, the edge, the Ephesians 4 leaning, the teams that fit and the person's own words. Your team additionally sees the exact scores with their margins, what the person agreed to, what trusted people said in confirmations, staff notes, the growth timeline, and the optional "something I have walked through" answer, which stays with people and never goes to exports, AI or Planning Center.

A member sees their own result on a private link, can send it to a spouse or mentor, and can erase it from the bottom of the page at any time.

Confirmations from people who know them

If the person shared their result with the pastoral team, they get a private link to send to two people who know them well. Those two see a first name, the gifts in the lead band with a short description of each, and the Ephesians 4 leaning. They never see scores or anything written. Each says whether those gifts match the person they know, names any gift the questionnaire missed, and says where they can picture them serving. What they say goes only to the pastoral team, for the follow-up conversation.

Where people serve here

Under the bands the result lists your church's serving teams whose needed gifts overlap the lead band, and your ministries that fit, with a line about each. Ministries only appear when a pastor has added them; the demo has a few so you can see the shape. A team the person asks to try shows up on your side as a request.
